The wind sleeve is one of the non-electronic landing devices found in all airports that helps the pilot determine how to land against the direction of the wind. It is a cloth bag in the shape of a shirt sleeve, open at both ends, and mounted on an iron pole in a free position. When the wind blows, it fills the sleeve and drives it in the direction the wind is blowing, that is, opposite the direction of the plane’s landing. The pilot sees the direction of landing from the air.
